Decorating one’s house with red is not a very easy task due to its dramatic glamour and bold energy. But if done in the right way, decorating with red can be warm, inviting and sophisticated. Depending on the architecture of the house and the mood that one wants to create, the right shade of red should be chosen. Bright, primary reds look best in modern styles. The traditional styles use deeper and more burgundy tones of red. Country styles look best in softer and chalkier reds.
 
Red can work beautifully in different parts of the house. Red is an ideal choice for dining rooms as it is known to stimulate appetite and conversation. The combination of a deep, rich red with dark wood furniture gives a sophisticated and historic look. Red can also be a great color for romantic bedrooms due to its passionate nature. The other shades of red should be preferred over the bright, primary red which is very energetic and hence might not create a restful feeling in the bedroom. Red can add a burst of energy even when used in small amounts. Hence one can also try using vase, throw pillows or bouquet of red flowers. It can work as a great accent color in a room of black and white. Rugs with a good amount of red are a classic way of adding red to a room without making it overwhelming. The popular colors that work with red are white, yellow, blue, black, orange, pink, violet, green and gold.
